A New Chapter for URBAN Barnsley: We've Relocated to The Glass Works Square

We're proud to announce the successful relocation of our Barnsley restaurant to a brand-new location in the heart of The Glass Works Square, marking an exciting new chapter for URBAN Fresh Burgers & Fries.

After three and a half years at our original Barnsley location, we officially opened the doors to our new restaurant on 14 August 2026, bringing our signature fresh burgers, hand-cut fries and handspun milkshakes to a more prominent position within Barnsley's thriving town centre.

The relocation represents a significant investment in our brand, our customers and our continued commitment to Barnsley.

A Fresh New Home in The Glass Works

Since first opening in Barnsley in 2022, we've been fortunate to build a loyal customer base and become part of the local community.

As URBAN has continued to grow, we recognised an opportunity to create a restaurant that better reflects where our brand is today, while positioning us at the heart of Barnsley's developing food and leisure scene.

Our new location on The Glass Works Square offers greater visibility, increased footfall and a refreshed restaurant environment, alongside established venues including Nando's, The Salt House and Katie O'Brien's.

The move allows us to build on the success of our original restaurant while creating a space that delivers an even better experience for our customers.

Celebrating Our Grand Opening

We marked the opening of our new restaurant with a weekend of celebrations, welcoming both familiar faces and new customers through our doors.

Our launch celebrations included an exclusive preview event, followed by a grand opening day on Saturday 15 August, when we gave away 100 free burgers to our first customers and a Spin The Wheel with plenty of gifts.

The response from the Barnsley community was fantastic, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate, supported our team and helped make the opening such a success.

Seeing the enthusiasm for our new restaurant has reinforced just how important Barnsley is to the URBAN journey.

The relocation is part of our wider commitment to strengthening the URBAN brand and investing in the long-term success of our restaurants.

As we continue to expand across Yorkshire and beyond, we're focused not only on opening new locations but also on developing our existing restaurants to ensure they reflect our evolving brand and deliver the best possible customer experience.

Our new Barnsley restaurant is an important example of that commitment, combining a prominent town-centre location with the fresh food, quality ingredients and made-to-order experience that our customers know and love.

From our signature smashed burgers made with 100% fresh British beef to our 17 unlimited free toppings and fresh hand-cut fries, everything that makes URBAN what it is remains at the heart of our new home.
